Fair skin, bare skin? Sunscreen for the weak in pigment.

Get Poopsies

Every summer for years Elijah has teased me that I am his "mail-order bride" and clearly not the mother of his children. When summer comes I turn about 30 shades darker than the rest of the family without even trying. If a picture is worth a thousand words than I need not say anything more!

When I got pregnant with our 4th I just assumed I'd have another fair skinned munchkin that didn't look much like me. I was pleasantly surprised when his first summer rolled around and low and behold, a tan line appeared on my little "Z" (short for Ezekiel).

Jim Gaffigan, one of my favorite comedians, has 5 fair skinned kids and jokes about the inside of the refrigerator being so bright that he needs to apply sunscreen to his kids before they open it. I can relate - 3 out of 4 of my kids have very sensitive skin, and they burn as quick as bacon on a hot skillet (wow, that sounded way worse after I typed it than when it popped into my head as a good analogy). Anyway, all that to say we might as well buy stock in sunscreen for the 5/7 of our family who need it to survive.

Here are a few of my favorites - they are organic and safe for babies and kids and husbands, for that matter. They are listed by price, from least expensive to most expensive. Happy sunning everyone!

1. Babyganics Cover up  $4.21

2. Elemental Herbs Sunscreen $13.50

3. Ecological Skin Care Baby All Natural Sunscreen $15.41

4. California Baby $18.71
